Squatters calling themselves ‘Topple the Tyrants’ moved in to Saif Gaddafi’s £11m house in North London this morning as they do not trust the British government to properly seize Gaddafi’s corrupt assets. London, UK, 09/03/2011.

The squatters moved in to Colonel Gaddafi’s son’s house in Winnington Close in London’s Hampstead Garden Suburb in the morning. They vow to stay there until the property goes back into the hands of the Libyan people.

A Legal Warning under Section 6 of the Criminal Law Act 1977 has been placed in the window above the front door clearly stating the intentions of the new residents.

People were entering and leaving the premises via a window on the ground floor to the right of the front door. A spokesman for the group declined to say how many people were inside. No press were being allowed in at all.

Further to Section 6, the residents are covered by the Protection from Eviction Act 1977 which makes it a criminal offence for anyone to evict a residential occupier without following the correct legal procedure.
